The Legal Editor is responsible for assuring the integrity, utility and currency of the editorial content of publications assigned to the position. This must be done in the context of strict adherence to the publishing schedule and compliance with standards, including editorial benchmarks and quality assurance measures. Close interaction with support staff and operations personnel (where relevant) is required to carry out the role effectively. The Editor is also responsible for assisting the team to meet the team’s portfolio responsibilities.
Additional primary responsibilities of the role include author, freelancer and/or supplier management, control and development of content in line with customer needs, keeping aware of and ahead of competitor publications, conducting an annual product review to assess the performance of the assigned products, content ownership, accountability, management through the use of operational metrics and analytics, building knowledge of the market and assisting subscribers with queries as required.
The Legal Editor will become proficient with the various systems and processes relevant to the role and proactively create documentation where necessary. The LE is required to work closely with the in-market Content Strategy team regarding scheduling and delivery of publications.
